What's hanging around your neighborhood?

What a unusual car to keep lkooking this good! It's got the black and yellow plates, and that's all it takes as far as I'm concerned. Must be a six cylinder, by the single tail pipe, and lack of engine call outs.

It's a 68 Plymouth Valiant Signet, and remarkably clean inside and out, interior pics didn't turn out, too dim in the evening, but wow... fresh paint and aftermarket rims. Congrads to the wner who isn't dying from the gas mileage of the straight six.

I still can't tell for sure if it's 2 or 4 door, but how lucky that it fits lengthwise in the garage!

Now this really shows effort, a 72 Dodge Dart Swinger, Cragar SS rims proviong again that everything looks better with that vintage Cragar SS look. Hood scoop is (I think) a 64 Super Stock Dodge aftermarket piece, and wow, what a king pin piece tot he whole package look. Nothing sets off a car better than the right hood scoop choice.


Even went the 200 dollar extra with the 69 Super Bee exhaust tips. My applause!

The doors are from a early 70's, they have no wing windows

the rims are from a Coronet or Charger, they were never offered on Darts

the front clip (fenders, grill, hood) is from a 1970 Dart,

the hood scoop isn't even Mopar, neither is the black hood stripe

the center console is from a 72 Barracuda or Challenger

the dash, looks like its from a Barracuda

the butt stripe is just the lower half, the top is missing

the GT letters are from a Pontiac Grand Am from the 1990's, the word Sport, well that is a mystery

the trunk panel is from a 1968 Dart

and I may be wrong, but the antenna on the rear fender I think is not normal to 1969 Darts

What unaltered, unmolested, cool muscle cars are hanging around in YOUR neighborhood?

Galaxie 500 with original dealership license plate trim rings om 1967 or 68 plates (xrz 329 was issued before Nov 68), and lots of sun damage, not much else wrong.

69 340 4 barrel Dart GTS.... with original hubcaps, and black and yellow plates, bucket seats, etc.

528 inch, by VanGordon racing engines. 725 Hp. Completely restored 68 Darts, the first is distinguished by the ram in the tail stripe facing backwards.

He had a dealership that specialized in hi-performance Mopars. He would install superchargers on 340 demons, he'd stuff 383's and 440's into darts, heck, he was the innovator that made Dodge realize that engines bigger than a 340 could sell in a dart!
His dealership was Gran Spaulding, and a special sticker would go into the window of the cars he sold, they worth about 30% more than the same car from another dealership to collectors. In the 60's there weren't many who could afford the best musclecars on the market, and there were few dealerships that catered to the few rich enough to order anything they wanted. Tasca Ford, Nickey's Chevrolet, Baldwin Motion Chevrolet, Gran Spaulding Dodge, Yenko Chevrolet.... these are off the top of my head, and not a complete list.

Most of the upgradeable parts were replaced with bigger and better, such as brakes, suspension, etc. The exhaust has electric switch cutouts, http://www.mrnorms.com/files/sema6.jpg has a few good hi res pictures.

Fiberglass fenders, and hood, aluminum engine block and parts... this is as lightweight and best handling as they could design it.
