After we've seen a couple of spy shots picturing a test mule of the upcoming Black Series variant of the C 63 AMG, spy photographers have recently scooped a real prototype in Germany in Coupe trim, around a Mercedes-Benz facility (probably in Affalterbach). The first detail that draws your attention towards the car is the outstanding width of it, combined with the lowered ride height. Then, your eyes feel attracted by the huge, single-slat radiator grille, boasting the Mercedes-Benz star in the center, and the monstruous frontal air intakes, that are still hidden under camouflage. Moving to the rear end, you notice the high-diameter (we reckon at least 20 inches), in true AMG design treatment, and the impressive wheel arches and door sills. The tail area looks very grumpy indeed: the engineers have come up with several, ingenious aerodynamical solutions to keep the car firmly to the ground - a pronounced spoiler on the trunk lid and a ferocious diffuser. The oval quad exhaust pipes, harking back to the AMG modern heritage, are simply delicious - certainly, the "symphony" they manage to sing is to die for to listen just once in a lifetime. A true hyper-sports car produced by the German tuner wouldn't be complete without a capable engine, and that's why, the new C 63 AMG Black Series will receive a modified version of the 5500 cc biturbo unit: the boost in peak output, maximum torque and overall performance compared to the standard C 63 AMG version will be a big leap ahead. Insiders claim that the powerplant will deliver over 500 hp and well over 600 Nm. Most probably, the top speed will not be electronically limited to just 250 km/h; instead, it might come fairly close to the 300 km/h line. Expect also a comprehensive array of refined management systems to best possible dynamic capabilities and one very prohibitive price tag that may go well over 100k euros.
