Stuttgart, Germany, Apr 29, 2011 – TRUCKERMANIA! The FleetBoard Drivers' League is on the starting grid once again. Thousands of Mercedes-Benz truck drivers from around the world will demonstrate their preventative and environmentally conscious driving skills in their daily work with FleetBoard. Registration for the traditional FleetBoard Drivers League is open from May 1st-31st, 2011 at www.driversleague.com . The best drivers from each country will qualify for the exciting live finals in September!
The 9th Drivers' League also promises sporting competition, fun and a sense of achievement for all participants. In national leagues, drivers from companies in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, South Africa and the Middle East will compete against each other. For four weeks every trip will count. During this time every participant will be driving to the best of their ability in order to win the national title. Rankings are based on the personal driving style grade from the FleetBoard Performance Analysis. This is composed of various factors, such as preventive driving style, speed changes as well as braking behaviour and, under consideration of the degree of difficulty, provides an objective statement on the economical handling of the truck.
The results from the individual driving styles are tallied and updated daily during the month of June at www.driversleague.com. There is a new feature this year, drivers and companies can use the Drivers' League app for the iPhone and iPad to access their results at any time. In addition to the daily updated single and team ranking, the development of the driving style grade is also shown. A special feature allows the user to follow the ranking of any buddies and the progress of the driver and team performance. The Drivers' League app is available on the App Store for free.
The best driver from each country will qualify for the exciting live finals in September. Then, after special types of practical driving challenges, the most economical Mercedes-Benz truck driver in the world will be crowned.
