REPORT: The 2012MY E 63 AMG Estate on the way to U.S. showrooms
For the Stateside customers, the wagon variant of the E 63 AMG was a forbidden fruit. Not anymore starting with this October, as Mercedes-Benz intends to launch this model in the USA as well. According to a recent report, Mercedes-Benz decided to launch the 2012 model year E 63 AMG Estate variant on U.S. soil in October 2011. The car is expected to match the performance level of its Sedan sibling in addition to offering a larger space choice and a more versatile interior. The frugal powerplant under the bonnet will be safeguarding the combined fuel economy which is estimated at 23.5 MPG (or 10 l/100 km). Other significant equipments offered standardly are the AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with three pre-defined settings ("Comfort", "Sport" and "Sport Plus"), the efficient MCT 7-speed transmission, the 3-stage ESP and, last but not least, the Active Blind Spot Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist active safety systems. When launched, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG Estate will showcase a base price tag of around $160,000.
