The production Challenger has been revealed, here's the notes and gallery
http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/15/chrysler-i-hates-i-phone-cams-production-09-dodge-challenge/
OntarioStreetCar reports that the Challenger arrives in March as a 2008 model.
That first run of 5500 cars will all be 6.1L SRT8s equipped with automatic transmissions priced at $38,000.
Starting in July, the MY09 Challenger will begin production, and the range will expand to include the 3.5L V6, the regular 5.7L HEMI, and of course, the SRT8 with the 6.1 HEMI.
And finally, the best news of all: on the '09 Challenger, both HEMI flavors will be available with the T56 6-speed manual transmission.

Walter P Chrysler

He ran the Willys car company for the next two years, then was the president and CEO of the Maxwell car company for 4 years. He then founded the Chrysler company, invented the Plymouth and De Soto lines, and bought Dodge in 1928.

Is Mercury ready to have it's plug pulled?
I was just reading in a magazine, which one I don't recall, that there is only one Mercury dealership left... in Michigan I think.
I know there are lots of Lincoln Mercury dealerships, just move past that, to the possibility that mercury is going to be the next marque to go away permanently, like Olds, AMC, Eagle, and Plymouth.
Lots of car makers have disappeared, in the US alone about a thousand, and long before our time the GM corp had a couple of other company names that went away long before we came along, like Oakland.

Fuel consumption perspective.... if you had to fuel your ride from 12 oz cans, like beer
http://ifitsgotanengine.com/2007/10/12/if-gasoline-were-sold-like-beer/ via http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/16/cracking-open-a-cold-can-of-gasoline/
Over at If It's Got an Engine, they wondered what the reaction would be to gas usage if we had to pour gas into our cars like beer: that is, in 12-ounce cans.
The writer, who owns a 1991 BMW 750 iL, would need two cases of beer gas to get to work and back, every single day. His beer-can-per-mile came in at 1.6 miles-per-can. Even if he took his motorcycle that achieves 48 mpg, he would still need to use 16 cans every day to do the round trip commute.

Just bolt on a supercharger, and get 48% more hp!
Once upon a time, you could get the 43% increased HP from a supercharger option for your Shelby 289... http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2006/11/once-you-could-get-this-supercharger.html#links for $435
Aint it cool when history repeats itself? It's a lot more expensive now though
Now, for $5,599, the ROUSHcharger increases the HP of your Mustang GT from 300 to 445. That's a 48-percent increase http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/03/roush-adds-30-extra-hp-to-roushcharger/
